1/3 Garlic clove

Preparation

Take 1/3 of the garlic clove and peel it

Smash garlic cloves with the texture of a puree

Place the garlic puree inside the clear nail polish

This delicious Peanut Butter Banana smoothie might satisfy that want!

Ingredients

Raw Peanuts

  • 2 Cups of Non-Fat Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 Cup of Peanut Butter
  • 1 Whole Banana
  • 1 Teaspoon of Honey
  • 1 Cup of Ice

*Use frozen yogurt for a thicker texture.

5 Tips for lighter underarms

1492206935780-3It’s getting warmer and I can’t wait to wear sleeveless shirts, go to the beach, and enjoy the party!

While looking forward to this nice weather, I was concerned about my underarms and how they would look when I wore sleeveless shirts. Sadly, they would look dark, as if I didn’t remove that unwanted hair.

With the help of one of our contributers Laura V. Cobos and some testing done of my own, I understood the actions that were needed to be taken to get raid of the dark underarms.

Here are 5 tips that should help you get rid of dark spots:

  1. Exfoliate the skin one day before any hair removal process. Exfoliating will remove the dead cells from the skin which causes folliculitis.
  2. While doing the hair removal process make sure to remove against the direction it has grown. It is more likely that it will be from bottom to top.
  3. Complete the hair removal process at night or at a time when you won’t have to use deodorant. Most deodorants close the pores that do not allow your underarms to breath.
  4. Remove deodorant or any other substances before going to sleep.
  5. Use a deodorant that can be used after shaving and that doesn’t contain harsh chemicals.

Salads don’t always=Healthy!

When eating out we often think of salads as a healthier or lighter choise, but have you asked yourself are these salads really that healthy?

Well I have to say that not really, so I looked into some of the main restaurants chain’s menus and what I noticed was that even if their calorie count wasn’t that high in comparison to some of the other items in their menu, the sodium content was too high.

The American Heart Association recommends an ideal limit of no more then 1500 mg per day for adults, they also say that the body only needs 500 mg of sodium per day. Most of the salads have between 600-3600 mg of sodium.

The Restaurant chains I refer to are Applebees, Ruby Tuesday and The Cheesecake Factory. Some of the restaurant above specify if the sodium content is with or without dressing but even if you take the dressing out you are left with a hefty amount of sodium.

10 Tips for Flawless Skin!

Here are 10 very important tips to maintain a healthy and flawless skin.

  1. Stay hydrated.
  2. Avoid foamy soaps, these soaps have ingredients that will take away the natural oils of your skin.
  3. Exfoliate 2-3 time a week to remove the dead cells from the skin.
  4. Moisturize the skin often, after every shower and before going to bed.
  5. If you use any oils with you daily moisturize routine, its preferable to use them at night. Oils can stain the skin with sun exposure.
  6. Apply sun screen 2-3 times a day, we have to stay protected.
  7. Remove Makeup before going to bed.
  8. Avoid fried food.
  9. Consume foods high in Vitamins (A, C, D, E and K).
  10. Consume foods high in Minerals (Sulfur, Zinc, Selenium and cooper).

1490567277886 (2)To have a fabulous and radiant skin, our bodies need a vast combination of vitamins and minerals. Vitamins ( A, C, D, E and K ), as well as Minerals ( Cooper, Selenium, Sulfur and Zinc ), can be easily found in many foods.

Foods like Beef Liver have a high content of some of the nutrients mentioned above, but guess what? Beef liver doesn’t sound appetizing to everyone.

Lucky you, I have combined fruits and vegetable with a high content of Vitamins and Minerals that are needed for great skin and turned it into a yummy green Smoothie.

Ingredients

Broccoli, Kale, Kiwi, Garlic, Lettuce and Spinach.

Recipe

4 Broccoli flowers

2 Kale leafs

1 Handful of spinach

2 Lettuce leafs

1 Garlic clove

1 Kiwi

Preparation 

Triple wash the Broccoli, Lettuce, Kale and Spinach

Peel a Garlic Clove and Kiwi

Chop all ingredients into smaller pieces to fit in the blender

Your skin and body will appreciate it!

 

Carry your makeup remover!

garnier micellar waterOnce, I went on a trip and didn’t take my makeup remover with me. I ended up using Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover. 

This has been the worst makeup remover I have ever used. The single fact that it is supposed to be “gentle to the skin” just disappointed me.

micellar back (2)This new technology of Micellar Water was supposed to “remove all impurities without over-drying the skin,” and it did all but that. I have a deep cool undertone and my face became white as a ghost, very dry, flaky and rough. After I had spent so much time and money into a good quality product, it felt awful to have my skin ruined by this makeup remover.

I learned my lesson. If this ever happens to you, please;

  • Don’t be fooled by the promising titles and take a few moments to read reviews online.
  • Carry your makeup remover. Ever since, I made a little bag with my essentials to carry everywhere.
  • Spend a little extra, even if you think it will only be used once. You will end up using that product sometime later.
  • Find a different alternative – like baby oil. Yes baby oil! IT WORKS!
